| Meet my dear friend Alice...she turns 90 on April 15th. Yes, my mother turns 90 on April 15th. We would both be grateful if you would snail mail her a birthday card. Use my PO Box to reach her: Alice Brink, PO Box 620639, Littleton, CO 80162. Alice Lorraine was born in the roaring twenties on April 15th 1923. She never enjoyed the competition from the tax man's deadline competing with her birthday. But I've found nothing has ever kept her down for long; although she has been definately been put to the test. Just like our country has. Raised in Boulder, Colorado by a loving aunt and uncle we came to know truely as Grandma Mary and Grandpa Arthur Giggey. She was a good daughter, who came to know her parents on her own efforts much later. Dancing and playing the accordion were part of an active and sharing life in school and after. Alice graduated from Boulder High and did a little college at our local alma mater, CU. She met my father, Glen Brink "The Swede", from Minnesota and here with the Army at a USO dance during WWII. They raised myself and my sister Carol Lorraine Brink very well. Now a widow 53 years, she finished raising her children alone. A fabulous volunteer, needlewoman and quilter! None of us will ever forget the great party Carol arranged for Alice's 80th birthday. I hope they will both be back in Colorado for her 100th birthday. Thank You Mom. Have another happy birthday! Your loving son, Glen Arthur Brink. |
