| Now a new year is coming with a sense of new beginnings and hope. Time to turn the tide.
We want to end this year by sharing Harry’s Ritual of the Bells, beautiful reminders of our human experience.
May the new year be a year of hope and new possibilities.
| In early morning and late evening at Buddhist monasteries a bell is struck five times for the benefit and enlightenment of all beings. | |
| The first bell is a reminder that our lives pass rapidly and we should not waste them. | |
| The second bell is a reminder that achieving enlightenment washes away all our pain and suffering. | |
| The third bell is a reminder to practice self-examination. If our lives should end this day, are the actions we are engaged in worth while? | |
| The fourth bell is a reminder that only our intentions carry beyond death. | |
| The last bell is a reminder of the grace of second chances. In whatever time is left to us, we can change. | |
